Cicero Friends and family of Dominic and Patricia Rossi of Cicero will again host a dinner to honor Dom and Pat’s memory and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Patricia Rossi served as the town clerk of Cicero from 1993 to 1998. Dominic served as a foreman in the Cicero Highway Department from 1975 to 1995.
The St. Jude seventh annual Dominic and Patricia Rossi Memorial Dinner will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the Welch Allyn Lodge in Skaneateles. New York Times best-selling author and former NFL star Tim Green will be this year’s special guest. Previous dinner special guests have been SU greats Floyd Little, Dan Conley and Kris Joseph, as well as Vincent Pastore of the television series “The Sopranos.”
This dinner has become a must for many people throughout Central New York. Each year the dinner gets bigger and better. Guests will also be entertained by live music. A silent auction of significant items will also be held. Over the past six years, these dinners have raised over $120,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital — the largest event of its kind for St. Jude in Upstate New York.
Other special guests this year will be the VanDreason family of North Syracuse. Steve and Amy VanDreason are the proud parents of first-grader Aria VanDreason. Aria has been a patient of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the past few years as they have removed Aria’s brain tumor.
Dominic and Patricia Rossi were proud supporters of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Although they had to fight cancer in their 50s, they reminded all of those around them that children also have to face the same battle. Aria is a pure demonstration of personal strength and faith and we are proud to support her and the kids at St. Jude.
