To the editor:
It was amusing to read about efforts to improve the Western Gateway to Skaneateles. Any funds expended to improve Route 20 entrances to the Village of Skaneateles, from either the east or the west, will be completely in vain without ridding those entrances of three gas stations (two to the west and one to the east) that have been vacant eyesores for probably 20 years. Whether located in the village or the town is irrelevant, since they are inextricably germane to both.
Wisdom would dictate that both financial and aesthetic considerations should be put on hold until all three of these cancerous structures are completely removed, both above ground and underground, regardless of the cost.
