Skaneateles The Skaneateles YMCA and Community Center is offering an array of youth programs during the school break in December. The programs are open to both Y-members and the general public.

Build a Gingerbread House
Create your own gingerbread house. We will provide the goodies for your house, gingerbread, icing, candies and a base. Bring the family for this exciting holiday time and laughter. Program goes from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, and is open to all. Please reserve your house by Friday, Dec. 7. Quantities are limited.
Skate with Santa
Come skate with Santa from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Free and open to all, bring your camera and snap a picture with Santa.
This five-hour course provides participants with the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to care for children in a safe and responsible manner. Open to youth ages 11 and 12, the class also includes exposure to first aid and CPR, as well as a visit from an emergency service professional who will discuss personal safety. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28. Lunch will be provided.
Geared toward students ages 7 to 13, the Technology Club provides an introduction to technology in a dynamic, safe, supportive, fun environment utilizing hands-on learning. Technology Club meets Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 28. Ages 7 to 10 meet from 1 to 3 p.m.; ages 11 to 13 meet from 2 to 4 p.m.
Nature Conservation Student Investigations (NCSI)
Justin Cunningham leads this hands-on camp for children ages 7 to 10. The camp encourages children to become aware of their environment and their potential influence on the world around them. “Follow me as I tread softly through nature.” Children should wear clothing that can get wet and dirty. NCSI will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 28.
